Lake Wateree is one of South Carolina's oldest man-made lakes, created in 1920 for hydroelectric power. Wildlife that may be spotted are deer, fox, squirrel, turtle, dove, turkey, alligator, duck, hawk, eagle, Heron and osprey. There is great fishing on the lake. Fish you may find include Largemouth Bass, Striped bass, White Perch, White bass, Crappie, Channel catfish, Arkansas Blue Catfish and Bream.
